The programme’s aim is twofold:
1. to educate children on the “journey of the olive” from the olive tree to its “transformation” to olive oil .
2. to help children realize the incessant offer of trees to human life in order to cultivate a relationship of love, respect and gratitude towards Nature.
Through the example of olive trees, the children will discover the value of Service and Generosity and they will learn how these values can be practically manifested in life.
The programme consists of 3 stages:
Α) “The journey of Olive” (video projection)
A video documentary, produced by Lotinos Ilios, showing all stages of the journey from picking the olives from the trees to pressing them into olive oil.
Β) “Thank you dearest tree” (narration of an ecological tale)
Anna Papamarkou, author of the ecological tale above, livens it up for children using Narration and Music to create an atmosphere full of emotions, colors and beautiful sounds.
C) “The seed and the gardener” (Theatrical Play activity)
Following on from the tale, the children will play, act and discover through powerful Theatrical Play methodology applied by a trained actress, the relationship between the olive tress and themselves. An experience that helps children bring out the best in them and freely express their feelings
